Horizon Simulations has released X-Plane Photographic Scenery, first-rate scenery for the X-Plane series which enables you to enjoy flights across England and Wales in stunning photographic detail.

You can explore the UK any way you want – enjoy breathtaking sights from your virtual cockpit, work on your VFR navigation techniques, or rehearse flights.

This spectacular scenery brings the UK to life in X-Plane 9 – roads, buildings and landscape features are captured in high-resolution images and shown in detail. The product features 10-metre mesh which intensifies the realism – you can see all the geographical features vividly.

X-Plane Photographic Scenery has 4 volumes:

  • Volume 1: South-East England
  • Volume 2: South-West England
  • Volume 3: North West England
  • Volume 4: East Midlands and North East England

These volumes provide breathtaking scenery of different parts of England and Wales. From your virtual cockpit, you will see amazing views as you take off from your local airport for the first time and fly over your hometown.

You will fly over cities, towns, spectacular coastlines, and thousands of miles of pastoral serenity. As you fly from the city to the countryside and across coastline and farms, you will enjoy high levels of immersion.

The photographic scenery for this product is created from aerial photography with the highest possible resolution in X-Plane. Horizon Simulations uses Getmapping's imagery, hence this product is the only add-on that provides the most amazing detail of England and Wales.

It is not easy to see England and Wales’ beauty from the road – one needs to get a bird's eye view from the sky. X-Plane Photographic Scenery enables you to see all of England and Wales from your home computer.

X-Plane Photographic Scenery offers you many opportunities. You can practice Visual Flight Rules (VFR) navigation if you are studying for, or already have a private pilot's licence.

All landmark features – buildings, roads, rivers, etc are clearly depicted in detail, so you can use these features on maps to navigate cross-country flights throughout England and Wales. If you are planning a flight over an area you have never flown before, you can take some 'pre-flight' exploration flight with this product. This will enable you to take some Visual Reference Points (VRPs) which you can use to map out your flight when you fly for real.

Developed from high quality aerial photography, not satellite imagery, this product offers the best resolution and detail as well as an accurate representation of colours. With this product, you will enjoy flights over England and Wales in amazing photographic detail.
