X-Plane San Francisco Area HD Photoreal Scenery

A complete photoreal scenery package covering San Francisco and surrounding areas in HD for X-Plane 12 and X-Plane 11.  Highly detailed terrain and photorealistic scenery.

Note: This package is very resource-intensive - in terms of GPU memory and disk space/access speed. We recommend a machine with an SSD, lots of RAM, and a video card with lots of GPU memory in order to render highly detailed photoreal images.

Covering the entire San Francisco area, the bay, and all surrounding local regions - this scenery add-on will really bring it to life. It is also compatible with the California Photoreal available here. If using both, just ensure that this sits above the other package using the directives correctly in the scenery_packs.ini config.

All imagery is created from open-source satellite photography and converted into a format that X-Plane understands. It's true photorealistic scenery and is made possible with the Ortho4XP software. The imagery in this pack is high definition, higher than the other standard packs with 100% Zoom Level 18. Some say it's excessive to compile data this detailed but we will let the screenshots do the talking.

HD Orthophoto packages cover a smaller region at a much higher resolution. These packages are meant for slow and low flying. They are almost 16 times larger than the standard packages. You WILL need a high-end system and video card.

The scenery covers the entire San Francisco area (and much wider). You can see coverage below. The HD area covered is outlined by the red line.

• Elevation Data Source - 1/3 arc-second DEM from the USGS (Approximately 10-meter resolution)

The entire package has been "pre-compiled" or "built" - so there is no need to run any lengthy conversion before using - simply download and install. We found that users were willing to suffer longer download times instead of running lengthy batch conversions (JPG to DDS) themselves.
