X-Plane Utah Complete Orthophoto (Photoreal) Scenery

A stunning and complete photoreal (orthophoto) scenery package for X-Plane 12 and 11 that brings the entire state of Utah up to photorealistic detail for your copy of X-Plane.  Based on real-world satellite imagery and post-processed for accurate representation within the sim.

The original scenery pack was sourced by Forkboy2 and has been converted into DDS (sim) format by Fly Away Simulation. 

The original source by Forkboy2 required end-users to covert the JPG tile files into DDS format themselves manually on their computer, however, many users were having trouble with this as their systems could not process the data fast enough, and convert times (at times) could take days.

Rest assured, this pack has already been pre-compiled into a format that X-Plane expects and there are no lengthy conversions needed - simply drag, drop and fly!

The entire state of Utah is covered in this scenery add-on and Utah is one of the most picturesque and beautiful places in the USA (especially when flying from above).  The canyons, flatlands, and valleys provide some serious eye candy for flight simmers. 

This pack for X-Plane brings all of that real-world ortho/photo data into your sim - and best of all it's completely free of charge.

About the Scenery

All of the scenery in this pack has been generated from accurate satellite imagery and has been post-processed to ensure atmospheric effects and distortions have been corrected as much as possible for the most realistic depiction in X-Plane.  The files have already been converted into a format X-Plane accepts and understands.

The scenery is a very large download and we also recommend a decent mesh add-on to complement the scenery. AlpilotX has released a UHD version that covers the areas required for Utah and you can find that here.

Note

These photorealistic files have already been pre-built (or pre-compiled) into the DDS format ready for X-Plane. While they make the package larger and download times longer, we find users prefer this over having to convert the files themselves manually. The archive has been zipped using higher compression which slightly overcomes the larger uncompressed DDS format.
