This freeware release offers a refined airfield environment optimized for flight operations, incorporating reworked positioning and improved traffic flow for both Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. The bundle aligns with realistic field dimensions and topographical details, while striking the right balance between performance and authenticity.

A Look at Fregate Island Airport

Fregate Island Airport, situated on a secluded island in the Seychelles archipelago, features a compact grass runway typically visited by Air Seychelles for charter connections to Seychelles International Airport. The island itself is renowned for its lush landscapes, diverse wildlife, and exclusive ambiance, making it a unique spot for short hopper flights.

Key Adjustments for Enhanced Accuracy

• Implementation of a civil General Aviation (GA) parking stand.

Technical Background

Alpha India Group’s work, often referred to as AIG Ground, centers on perfecting Afcad files (airport facility data) for default and add-on scenery. The designs rely on extensive research, ensuring that each airfield, including this Seychelles destination, is wrapped in plausible details such as authentic parking assignments, taxiway geometry, and route flow. This project seamlessly complements both standard and third-party scenery.

Credits and Additional Tools

Development of FSSF Fregate Island is possible thanks to the Airport Design Editor (ADE) utility. Recognition goes to Jon Masterson and the ADE team for creating this essential freeware tool, plus credit to Jim Vile for his graphic approach enhancements. The current ADE release (1.47.07) is compatible with both FSX and FS9, enabling precise airport modeling. The developer team extends gratitude for their support throughout all Alpha India Group projects.

Important: This release does not function correctly with default island surroundings. For the recommended experience, consider installing the corresponding Seychelles landclass package (aig_seychelles_landclass_fsx_default.zip).

Steps for Installation

1. Remove any pre-existing FSSF AFD or Afcad files from your FSX folder.
2. Copy AIG_FSSF_ADEX_KPK_Default.BGL into the “Addon Scenery/scenery” folder.
3. Copy AIG_FSSF_ADEX_KPK_Default_ALT.BGL into the “scenery/world/scenery” folder. Then, restart your simulator.

Removing the Add-on

1. Delete AIG_FSSF_ADEX_KPK_Default.BGL from “Addon Scenery/scenery.”
2. Delete AIG_FSSF_ADEX_KPK_Default_ALT.BGL from “scenery/world/scenery.” Finally, restart the simulator.
