Experience the Antarctic Logistics Centre International (ALCI) “Lidia” rendition of the Basler BT-67, created as a repaint for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The converted airframe merges the iconic Douglas DC-3’s design with modern turboprop technology to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cold-weather capability. This particular aircraft, registered as C-GEAI, sports an exterior scheme developed by Cheese-Strike Repaints (Daniel Fuernkaess) and is offered free of charge for the original Basler BT-67 package by Daniel Fuernkaess, Manfred Jahn, Alexander M. Metzger, and Hansjoerg Naegele.
Polar Operation Adaptations
In real-world applications, the Basler BT-67 is a thoroughly modernized variant that retains the DC-3’s distinctive airframe shape while incorporating turboprop powerplants. Such transformations enable safer flights in remote climates, like Antarctica, where harsh winds and underdeveloped runways push airplanes to their limits. The “Lidia” variant showcased here highlights the aircraft’s flexibility on ice, especially when configured with ski-equipped landing gear for snow-covered fields.

Key Elements of This Repaint
- Authentic Exterior: Reflects ALCI’s official markings and color combos.
- Optional Landing Gear: Comes with both ski and non-ski configurations to handle diverse runway surfaces.
- Dedicated to Polar Missions: Ideal for users who enjoy flights to glacial regions.
Preparation Steps
- Confirm you have the main Basler BT-67 package installed (it is available as freeware, and you can find it in Fly Away Simulation’s library). This repaint will not function independently.
- Extract the contents of this download to a temporary location. Alternatively, open the ZIP file and copy the necessary items directly.
- Transfer both “
texture.C-GEAI
” and “texture.C-GEAI_ski
” subfolders into your “Flight Simulator X\Simobjects\Airplanes\Basler_BT67
” directory. - Access the “
aircraft.cfg
” file using a plain text editor. Insert the following sections under the existing [fltsim] entries, remembering to replace “x” (and “x+1” accordingly) with the correct sequence number:
