Aeronca Chief

The Chief was developed by Aeronca in 1945 as a side - by - side version of the Champion. It became quite popular as it was very stable and easy to fly. This is a native FSX project; it was compiled with Xtomdl SP-2 into FSX SP-2. I couldn't test it in Vista and DX10 because I don't have them. My friends that do reported no visibility or other problems. It has the usual FSX animations, .dds textures, and reflective glass thanks to Dave Nunez's FSDSTweak program. I gave it only a minor amount of bump mapping because the model doesn't lend itself to that feature except for the fasteners on the cowl. The VC features working gauges and animated flight controls. This is a real Put-Put, nice for sight seeing as it toodles along at about 72 mph.

INSTALLATION: Unzip Aerchf.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Aeroca Chief into the Airplanes folder of FSX. Open the gauges folder and copy the 2 files into the Gauges folder of FSX. Copy them "as is" and don't open them or they won't work.

As of September 2019, there is an excellent 11AC Chief for X-plane. I helped with the model using my own full-sized airplane.

I'm looking for an Aeronca Champ. Can anyone help me find one for FSX

Very nice download, however, wish there was a fix for poor ground handling/taxiing! Tried tweeking the cfg file, but nothing seems to help!

I really wish this beautiful Aeronca Chief was available for X-Plane, I would seriously pay money for it!
