Spitfire PR.XIX PS888 'The Last Sortie.' On 1 April 1954 this aircraft of 81 Sqn conducted the last ever operational sortie by an RAF Spitfire, flying a PR mission from its base at Seletar to an area of jungle in Johore thought to contain Communist guerrilla hideouts. After the flight the aircraft's ground crew painted the inscription "The Last!" on the left engine cowling. PS915 of the BBMF currently wears the color scheme and markings of PS888. Textures by Grant MacLean/Sean Moloney/RealAir.

Spitfire PR.XIXs were unarmed and could fly at 370mph at 40,000 feet with a range of 1500 miles. Mk XIX Spitfires represent the ‘top end' of development of the Spitfire and indeed of piston engine aircraft. Some say that the Spitfire XIX is "the most beautiful aircraft of them all".
These textures supercede the somewhat inaccurate FS2004 textures. While the livery is now relatively accurate, the model does not allow for removing guns while retaining an historical instrument panel, and modern civilian instruments are included. Also, of course, it lacks the wrap-around winsdscreen of the pressurised PRXIXs.
INSTALLATION:
1. Extract/unzip the SPITLAST.ZIP file into a temporary folder.
2. Move the folder TEXTURE.PS888 to the RealAir Spitfire XIV 2007 folder (usually:"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\RealAir Spitfire XIV 2007).
3. Copy the text between the asterisks below into the AIRCRAFT.CFG file in your RealAir Spitfire XIV 2007 folder, at the end of the previous [fltsim.X] entries, replacing the 'X' in [fltsim.X] with the next sequential number.
