Experience the distinct character of the Airbus A300B4-200 in Garuda Indonesia’s heritage paint scheme for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. This complete freeware package features the PK-GAD registration and showcases the original livery, brought to life by SGA’s specialized modeling. Aerodynamic handling and numerous visual details have been meticulously reproduced, ensuring an authentic representation of this wide-body airliner.

Aircraft Highlights and Design Concepts

The Airbus A300B4-200 is recognized as one of the pioneering twin-engined wide-body aircraft. Its airframe, initially introduced in the 1970s, offered improved efficiency for medium- to long-haul operations. The Garuda Indonesia version, especially during the era when PK-GAD carried its classic look, reflected the airline’s commitment to expanding routes across Southeast Asia and beyond. This add-on preserves that rare historical aesthetic.

Model and Texture System

SGA (model developer): The external design, with smooth fuselage contours and carefully aligned control surfaces, adds depth to any virtual hangar. The textures are structured as full bitmap files, intended for repainters to edit in their preferred graphics software.

Important: The fuselage and engine bitmaps require proper conversion, as standard flight simulators demand a specific format. Additionally, the wings and nighttime overlay textures are provided in DXT3 format, which optimizes performance but does not currently come in uncompressed versions.

Paint Kit Development

Work is ongoing to finalize a comprehensive paint kit that will include master fuselage files in both PSP and PSD formats. This planning enables easier customization, ensuring every precise gradient and alignment is easily editable. When releasing repaints, do not forget to incorporate the original credits referencing these development teams.
