This enhancement introduces an authentic Czech Air Force paint scheme designed for the SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 “SALON” model (VIP variant). It utilizes highly detailed texture work and is entirely freeware, ensuring a realistic military-transport environment for enthusiasts who value loyalty to original service liveries.
Background and Overview
The Yakovlev Yak-40 is a short-haul regional jet initially developed during the Soviet era. This specific iteration highlights the Czech Air Force’s visual identity, which was historically applied to small VIP aircraft. Created by Maxim Mysin, with rivet detailing furnished by Zbynek Pavlon, the texture set marries intricate design elements with a streamlined self-installer to ensure straightforward integration into the flight simulator. The base package, identified as SCDSYK40.ZIP (v1.3), remains a prerequisite before adding this paint scheme. Please note that no compatibility exists with the Yak-40K v1.2RC release.

Core Features
- Realistic Czech Air Force insignia to replicate the official VIP transport configuration.
- Self-extracting installer for a swift setup process within Flight Simulator 2004.
- Color palette and markings that align closely with genuine service usage.
- Custom rivet detailing contributed by the same artist crafting rivets for other SCDS releases.
Installation Instructions
Begin by installing the primary SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 “SALON” package. Next, run the provided .exe file and direct it toward the root folder of your Flight Simulator 2004 installation. After this operation completes, the new scheme will appear in the aircraft listings. If any subsequent patches to SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 cause texture loss, simply re-run the provided installer to reinstate all textures properly.
Credits and Acknowledgments
This freeware expansion is authored by Maxim Mysin, who put significant effort into achieving a faithful color layout and markings. Special thanks go to Zbynek Pavlon for refining the textured rivets seen across these models. Both developers have ensured that the final product matches real-world fidelity as closely as possible.
