This repaint package features a green-and-white Cessna 152II, complete with matching interior, specifically designed for the payware Carenado Cessna 152. Created by Tom Tiedman, it caters to users of Microsoft Flight Simulator X seeking to refresh their virtual hangar with a distinctive livery. Although it only contains texture files, the full Carenado model must be acquired from a payware source such as SimShack before using this add-on.

Showcase of the Green/White Livery

Above is an in-simulator view of the green design in action.

Key Visual Notes

  • Interior Consistency: The cockpit exhibits the same green tone, complementing the fuselage paint scheme.
  • Wheel Fairings Variants: Two texture sets are provided—one with wheel fairings (“gear fairings”) and one without, allowing for different aesthetic and aerodynamic preferences.

Aircraft Background

The Cessna 152, a two-seat platform, entered service in the late 1970s as an evolution of the earlier Cessna 150. Well-suited for leisure flying and primary flight instruction, the model gained popularity due to its manageable handling and low operating costs. Powered by an upgraded Lycoming engine in most variants, it excels in short-field performance. This particular repaint respects the original proportions and design elements of the real C152 while providing a fresh visual identity.

Installation Procedure

  1. Locate an existing Carenado C152 texture folder in your aircraft directory and copy that folder to a temporary location on your system.
  2. Extract the eight enclosed repaint textures and both thumbnail files into this temporary texture folder, approving any overwrite prompts.
  3. Rename that temporary folder to texture.Green N41032, and then place it back into your Carenado C152 location. This set uses wheel fairings.
  4. Return to the temporary folder and change the name of texture.Green N41032 to texture.Green N41032sc. Then copy it to the same aircraft folder. This set omits wheel fairings.
  5. Add the two [fltsim.X] entries shown below to the aircraft.cfg file, updating each X to the next available repaint index.
  6. Open the texture.Green N41032sc folder and remove the standard thumbnail image. Rename thumbnailWITHOUTWHEELPANTS to just thumbnail so the no-fairings version displays its thumbnail properly in the aircraft menu.

Configuration Entries

Insert these entries into the aircraft.cfg file. Modify each bracket’s sequence number (X) to fit your repaint lineup:

Credits and Notes

This repaint is by Tom Tiedman. It only contains the textures, so installing it requires that you already own the payware Carenado Cessna 152 model. This add-on was optimized for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Have fun exploring the skies with this custom green-and-white C152II scheme!
