Immerse yourself in the storied era of early commercial aviation with this carefully crafted Island Airlines repaint for the default Ford Trimotor. Authored by Ed Knapp, this custom texture set was designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and accurately captures the look of the “Tin Goose” during its historic duty with Island Airlines. The Ford Trimotor (4-AT variant) stands out for its rugged build, three-engine configuration, and pioneering contributions to scheduled passenger travel in the 1920s and 1930s.
Unique Aspects of the Island Airlines Livery
The Island Airlines repaint accentuates every rivet line and subtle detail on this classic aircraft, combining vintage aesthetics with high-resolution markings. Operators like Island Airlines relied on the Ford Trimotor to link remote communities, establishing consistent short-haul routes that demonstrated air travel’s reliability to early passengers. Ed Knapp’s work integrates era-appropriate insignia and branding to evoke authentic cabin and fuselage refinements, allowing enthusiasts to experience how this aircraft appeared in its prime.

description="Nicknamed the "Tin Goose," the Ford 4-AT Tri-Motor pioneered early airline and air transport routes. In 1925, the Ford Motor Company bought the Stout Metal Plane Company to gain rights to the Tri-Motor design. In all, 198 Ford Tri-Motors were built. During its years of regular service in the late 1920s and early 1930s, the Ford Tri-Motor helped popularize commercial flight and promote the safety of flying to travelers."
- Adjust the [fltsim.x] entry number to suit your setup. For instance, if it is your third additional repaint, label it
