FS2004 livery / repaint

FS2004 Ansett FB Services - 1970's Livery

Ansett FB Services 1970s livery recreates the final Australian scheme worn by the Sandringham flying boats Islander and Beachcomber, capturing classic Rose Bay harbour-era character with period-accurate colours across the exterior and virtual cockpit. Built for FS2004, it requires Jens Kristensen’s Short Sandringham SAND_V10.ZIP and highlights a distinctive slice of seaplane history.

This livery was the last to be worn by the flying boats "Islander" and "Beachcomber" before they left Ansett ownership and sad to say, departed Australia, probably never to be seen here again. Designed for use with Jens Kristensen's Short Sandringham, SAND_V10.ZIP. By Corey Phillips and Bruce Kennewell.

This livery was specially created by Cory Phillips, of Kustom Kolors, for use with Jens Kristensen's lovely Short Sandringham.

To me, these colours represent a large part of my life, because I watched these 'boats and others like them (TEAL Solents) take-off from and alight at Rose Bay for many years - the end of the fifties, all of the sixties and part of the seventies. It was a sad day when the last of them flew away and, only a few years later, the base at Rose Bay was demolished.

I hope that you enjoy the historical significance of this little package and appreciate the fact that we Flight Simulator enthusiasts are, in our own small way, helping to record history.
