This complete freeware package offers a sleek Lancair IV “Black Magic” variant meticulously adapted for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Derived from Robert Christopher’s original Lancair Legacy 2000 design, it has been extensively upgraded by Mark Rooks (of RDG Aircraft) to reflect the streamlined and high-performance characteristics of the Lancair IV turboprop model. With a reported top speed of approximately 325 knots, this particular configuration showcases an eye-catching full black-on-black exterior marked with classic 1950s flame accents. It also includes upgraded cockpit features, a transparent canopy, and default gauge integration for both 2D and 3D panels, making it highly accessible to all sim pilots.
Notable Enhancements in This Release
- Turboprop Specifications: Configured to match the Lancair IV’s speed envelope and aerodynamic efficiency.
- Visual Upgrades: Painted in a striking black finish, highlighted by retro hot rod flames for a distinctive presence in the air.
- Default Instrumentation: Utilizes core simulator gauges to simplify installation, ensuring minimal conflicts with third-party add-ons.
- Clear Canopy: Includes see-through canopy elements [the transparent overhead structure] that enhance visibility from the cockpit.
