Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

A highly modified version of Robert Christopher's Lancair. Aircraft is painted in highly reflective textures. This effect achieved with the use of a modified alpha channel. This technique created and used by Rooks Design Graphics, .air file and .cfg and textures created by Mary Moo of Rooks Design Graphics (RDG).

To install this aircraft:

As always back up any original files.

  • Unzip downloaded folders to your desktop or temporary directory of your choice.
  • Copy the " Lancair " folder and paste it in the main aircraft folder:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FSx\SIM Objects /Aircraft

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

    Presents an opaque off white disc as the propeller arc in both fsx,fsx se and p3d. This restricts the view from the VC and spoils the overall good model. Now deleted.................
