Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004

This freeware repaint package offers a realistic EuroConnect Boeing 737-700 exterior for those using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Although EuroConnect is not a traditional carrier, it represents a fictional operation focused on short and medium-haul connections across various European destinations. This livery has been meticulously produced by Tom van der Elst and requires ownership of the PMDG Boeing 737 Next Generation package, which is a payware model available for separate purchase (for instance, from SimShack or other vendors). The Boeing 737-700 variant is well suited to regional routes, known for its excellent range and efficient handling, making it an ideal platform for immersive flights over city pairs across Europe.

Visual Features and Livery Highlights

Crafted with a detailed approach, this EuroConnect scheme showcases distinct cabin windows, precise airline text, and subtle metallic finishes along the fuselage. The 737-700 airframe, recognized for its range capacity and reliable engines, has been honored with an authentic paint layout that reflects modern aviation aesthetics. Expect carefully aligned registration markings and styling cues that accentuate the aircraft’s streamlined form.

Key Technical Notes

  • Compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004
  • Focused on fidelity, retaining accurate geometry throughout the fuselage, wings, and tail section
  • Developed to leverage PMDG’s advanced flight modeling and systems representation

Steps to Integrate the Textures

Below are the concise installation instructions. Ensure you have the PMDG 737 base package installed before proceeding, as these files only provide the exterior paint.

  • Navigate to your PMDG 737-700 folder, typically found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\PMDG737-700.
  • Create a new directory called Texture.X. (Choose any placeholder name in place of “X” while setting it up.)
  • Locate the default PMDG texture folder, or another pre-existing livery folder, then copy all of its content into the newly made Texture.X directory.
  • Open the Texture.ECU folder included in this download.
  • Copy every file from the Texture.ECU folder and paste them into your Texture.X folder, confirming any overwrite prompts.
  • Last, rename Texture.X to Texture.ECU to finalize the new livery’s directory.

Developer and Credits

This repaint was painted by Tom van der Elst. Full credit goes to PMDG for producing the payware Boeing 737 Next Generation model, which forms the required foundation for these textures.

Once installation is complete, simmers can experience EuroConnect’s virtual branding on short-haul hops or more extended routes—perfect for exploring Europe’s diverse airport network with a reliable 737-700 under PMDG’s robust simulation framework.
