FS2004 Kestrel Aviation Douglas DC-3 G-AMFV

Kestrel Aviation’s Douglas DC-3 G-AMFV repaint recreates an ex-BEA Pionair with 1970s UK heritage, reflecting operations from Castle Donington and frequent visits to Speke, Liverpool. Designed for FS2004, it includes a refreshed prop bitmap and a reworked DC-3 interior for a more authentic virtual cockpit.

Installation:

  • Unzip the contents of this file to a temporary directory.
  • Make a new folder "texture.x" in your FS2004\Aircraft\Douglas_DC3 (Where 'x' equals the next number in sequence in your texture folders, example if you have texture to texture.3, you would make a new folder named texture.4).
  • Copy the following text into your aircraft.cfg file located inFS2004\Aircraft\Douglas_DC3.

  • Replace the 'x' where you see [fltsim.x] with the number this aircraft represents. example.. If it is your third aircraft it would be [fltsim.2]. (begins with fltsim.0).
  • Replace the 'x' against texture= with the number this aircraft represents. example.. If it is your third aircraft it would be texture=2 (starts from texture=0 onward).

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

    FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.
  3. Always read the included readme

    I used to fly the wonderful dc3 Kestrel for years Do you think that it would be possible to get it P3D compatible now ? Or is it only a mere dream ? :-)
