FSX Austin Bergstrom International Scenery

Austin Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS) scenery refreshes the FSX default field with expanded, airline-assigned gates, refined runway and taxiway geometry, and reworked aprons for more authentic ground operations. It adds a more accurate control tower, cargo and general aviation parking, fuel trucks, perimeter vehicle paths, and airbase-area details.

For FSX only!

I. Installation

-This is a modification of the default KAUS scenery in FSX.
-kaus.bgl includes all taxiway, apron, boundary, gate, ground traffic and vehicle pathways.
-aus_scenery.bgl includes the control tower, fuel tanks and blackhawk helicopters.
-Unzip kaus.zip into a directory of your choosing.
-Copy "aus_scenery.bgl" and "kaus.bgl" to your flightsim X "addon scenery\scenery" directory.
-That's it. All you need to do now is select KAUS within Flight Simulator X

II. Scenery Information

Many changes have been made including:

-Enable all gates to be visible. Added several gates where possible to get closer to the actual count. Designated gates by airline.
-Removed miserable default control tower and added one that looks much more like the actual.
-Removed non-existent radio antenna that was located at the intersection of CHARLIE and HOTEL taxiways.
-Added the airforce base pre-existing layout and structure including taxiways and what is left of the original RWY 17L-35R.
-Added Fuel Trucks at terminal, general aviation and cargo areas.
-Added two more aircraft cargo parking spots.
-Extensively modified taxiways and existing aprons.
-Removed many duplicate taxiway signs.
-Extensively modifed the southeast general aviation parking.
-Added perimeter vehicle pathways.
-Added main apron vehicle pathways.
-Modified runways to look more like the actual ones.
-Many more changes to come in future versions.

III. Credits and Support

-This Scenery was created for myself and the worldwide flight simulator community and can be freely distrubited except for commercial purposes.
-Scenery modifications made using many utilities including but not limited to FSX Planner, SDE, bglcomp and others.
-Thanks to all of the folks who through their utilties have made scenery modifcation and creation easy again with FSX.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
