FSX Hurlburt Field Scenery

Hurlburt Field (KHRT) at Eglin AFB in Mary Esther, Florida gets a more authentic military layout in FSX, adding expanded cargo and combat parking, helipads, and a detailed fire station with trucks. Reworked ramp geometry, plus static ground equipment and helicopters, follows AirNav diagrams and Google Earth using stock objects with no extra libraries required.

Hurlburt Field Scenery.

MS didn't do much with military bases in FSX. Here is an improved version of the stock Hurlburt Field. I added many Military_Cargo and Military_Combat parking spaces. Added the fire station with fire trucks, added helipads, and static fork trucks, military trucks, tractor trailers and helicopters. The ramp on the east side of the field was too large and way too far away from the runway. I narrowed the ramp and moved it closer as much as possible.

I use Just Flight's Military Plus Packs and they work fine with this airport. I also use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed. Updates made using AirNav diagrams and Google Earth to be as accurate as possible. All work done with Flight 1's AFX program and Instant Scenery.

I will be doing other military bases as time permits.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the two files AFX_KHRT_JC.bgl and KHRT_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
