Instrument coverage concentrated on one runway end

Kodiak has three approach charts, combining ILS and localiser procedures with RNAV (GPS) and VOR options. All serve a single runway end, so the chart set offers several forms of instrument guidance for one arrival direction rather than coverage across the airport’s other five ends. Two obstacle departure procedures complement the arrival material.

Three runway alignments

Runway 08/26 is the clear length leader at 7,534 ft, exceeding the other two runways by more than 2,100 ft. The three alignments provide distinct runway orientations, while the airport diagram gives the ground-layout detail needed to distinguish their intersections. For visual flying, the Kodiak Sectional adds the broader charted context around the airport that the terminal procedure charts do not show.

Yes — 1 ILS procedure is published. In total PADQ has 3 published instrument approaches, of which 1 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the PADQ airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Kodiak is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

Which runway do instrument approaches serve at PADQ?

Every published approach serves one runway end. There is no instrument procedure to the reciprocal direction, so an arrival in instrument conditions commits to that single approach direction regardless of the wind.

Is PADQ a towered airport?

Yes. Kodiak has an operating control tower, within Anchorage Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

Are these PADQ charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
