FS2004 Samara Yak-40

Samara Airlines’ Yakovlev Yak-40 livery brings a classic Volga-region look to the SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 convertible passenger and cargo model, including the side cargo door, in FS2004. It captures the carrier’s 1990s-era identity for regional and charter routes and requires the SCDSYK40.ZIP base package.

Samara Airlines, which was created in the backdrop of privatization of Kuybyshev Joint Aviation Squadron (KuAO) in 1993, was among the popular airlines that had Yakovlev Yak-40 in their fleet.

Based in Samara, Russia, Samara Airlines operated scheduled and charter flights to several destinations in the country. While its domestic scheduled destinations include Anapa, Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, and Krasnodar, the airline's famed international scheduled services comprised of Almaty, Baku, Bukhara, Dushanbe, Tashkent, Tianjin and Yerevan.

There is no doubt that but for the collapse of AiRUnion, of which the airlines was a member, Samara Yak-40s, brought out with a lot of salient features to provide absolute thrill to the traveling passengers, would have continued to fly beyond 2008.
