FS2004 2 Red Consolidated PBY Catalina

Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina brings two vivid red liveries to FS2004, including a test aircraft and a Buffalo Airways scheme, with a complete panel for amphibious operations. Wingtip floats animate via the tailhook function, and the virtual cockpit panel requires the default Douglas DC-3 gauge set for proper instrument display.

The PBY-5A Catalina don't disappear with the end of the war. It continued flying in many duties. This file includes two Cats painted in red color, one for testing purposes, and the another belonging to Buffalo Airways. Package includes panel. By Mike Stone, repaint by Alejandro Hurtado.

The base textures folder in this zip file contains base (unpainted) texture files for use in repainting.

Installation:

Simply copy the entire "pby5a" folder contained in this zip file to the "/Flight Simulator 9/aircraft" folder on your PC. Then copy all of the files contained in the "gauges" folder to "/Flight Simulator 9/gauges".

The panel uses gauges from the default DC3. You may need to copy the file named "Douglas_DC3.cab" from the folder "/Flight Simulator 9/aircraft/Douglas_DC3/panel" to "/Flight Simulator 9/gauges" for the gauges to show correctly.

The wingtip floats are slaved to the FS tailhook function. An operating switch is supplied on the panel or you can assign a key to it via the options menu.

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.
