FS2004 Alaska Travel Air DeHavilland DHC-2

Alaska Travel Air’s orange-and-black de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver livery brings a rugged bush-flying look to the amphibian, inspired by a real aircraft with a fictional registration. Built for FS2004, it requires the Aerosoft DHC-2 Beaver and supports both modern and classic amphibian variants with reflective detailing.

Alaska Travel Air DeHavilland DHC2 Beaver in orange and black livery. Textures only for Aersoft's payware DHC 2. By Kevin Roberts.

Important Notice: These textures are for the FS2004 version of Aerosoft's Beaver only. They will not work with Aerosofts BeaverX for FSX. (I will be releasing an FSX version at a later date.)

Thanks for downloading these textures, I hope you will enjoy them. These textures were inspired by a real Beaver, though the number is fictional.

I would like to thank Aerosoft both for the wonderful Beaver as well as permission to make these textures available to others.

You can use these textures with the Modern Amphibian or the older Amphibian. To instal the textures in the modern amphibian, go to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian Modern', and make a copy of the 'texture.bates' folder and rename it 'texture.N108KR'. Now take the folder of the same name that was included with this zip file and drop it into 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian Modern' folder. Chose yes for overwrite.

Now make a copy of your 'Aircraft.cfg' as a backup. Next open your 'Aircraft.cfg' with an editor such as Notepad and add the following segment to it, after your current airplane entries. Replace the XX with the next number in the sequence.

The MKI is the mostly spread version with a 450 SHP Pratt & Whitney R985. Alternatively a MKII was developed with 550 SHP Alvis Leonides 502/4 engine. Later the less common PT6A6 turboprop powered Beaver was built between 1964 to 1969. In total almost 1700 plans were built and many of them are beautifully restored and service for tourist flights, transportation and fun all around the world.

To install these textures in the old panel version of the Beaver, go to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian' and repeat the steps above, only add the segment below instead of the previous one to the aircraft.cfg.

Now you are ready to boot up FS and fly. On a final note: due to the method I used to create these textures, you will need aircraft reflections turned on in order to see all the detail.
