Qantas-themed Boeing 377 Stratocruiser repaint textures bring a classic airline look to the A2A Wings of Silver model in FSX, with crisp exterior markings tuned for the aircraft’s distinctive curves. Obviously two fictitious aircraft and not liveries for the purists, but this is my very first attempt at a repaint of any sort, please be gentle! I picked the A2A WOS Boeing 377 as IMO it is by far the best model in my FSX Library. When I can get the more traditional shiny metal surfaces sorted in DDS I'll try to put together an earlier 1947 Qantas Empire Airways livery which is more appropriate for the era.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
