This fictional Boeing 787-10 VARIG repaint pays tribute to Brazil's pioneering airline while offering a fresh twist on the classic liveries we see in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I’ve tested it firsthand in MSFS and found its 8K resolution delivers crisp, immersive visuals even in close-up views, which is a big plus for those of us who appreciate realism during virtual flights.

Developed by IFR Liveries/Textures, this mod preserves the unique branding style that VARIG might have embraced if the airline continued operations. The end result is a well-crafted, vibrant livery that livens up the MSFS environment and provides enthusiasts like me with an authentic-looking addition to our virtual Boeing 787 fleet.

A completely fictional livery for the default Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 release Boeing 787-10. The livery is based on the what-could-have-been "Varig" livery - which is 100% fictional as it never existed (and likely never will).

VARIG was the first airline founded in Brazil, in 1927 and unfortunately no longer exists and ceased operations officially in 2006.

Installation

Copy the B787-LIVERY-VARIG folder into your MSFS "community" folder and the livery will be available in MSFS.

How to install this mod

MSFS livery / repaint

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Locate your MSFS Community folder

All MSFS add-ons live in the Community folder. Microsoft Store / Game Pass version: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\. Steam version: %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\. Tip: enable Developer Mode in MSFS to see your exact Community folder path.
Copy the livery folder into Community

Drag the extracted livery folder into your Community folder. The base aircraft must be installed for the livery to appear.
Restart MSFS

Close MSFS completely and relaunch. The new content appears in the Content Manager, on the World Map, or in the aircraft/livery selector.

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
