Watertown International Airport (KART) in Watertown, New York gets a detailed refresh for FSX with rebuilt terminal-area structures, expanded aprons, roads, and taxiways, plus paved and gravel parking, lightpoles, and static aircraft and vehicles. Accurate gate assignments and stock-library objects keep the layout faithful without requiring extra object libraries.

Watertown International Airport (KART), Watertown, New York (NY). An improved version with replaced buildings, added parking, improved taxiways, new static vehicles and more. By Jim Cook.

Here is an improved version of the stock Watertown International Airport. Most default buildings were replaced and other buildings added. I adjusted an apron to clear the road, and added other aprons, roads, and taxiways. Also added paved and gravel parking lots, static vehicles, aircraft, lightpoles, etc.

I assigned gates to Cape Air which flies from Watertown to Albany, NY. The airport is located on Lake Ontario.

KNOWN ISSUE: The beacon is sitting on a road. I could have removed it completely but felt it was better to have it there for nighttime use.

I use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed. Updates made using AirNav diagrams and Google Earth to be as accurate as possible. All work done with Flight 1's AFX program and Instant Scenery.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the two files KART_AFX_JC.bgl and KART_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
