Compare KMCO scenery for MSFS 2020 and 2024, including BMWorld/AmSim, Taxi2Gate, freeware choices, compatibility checks and install fixes.
For Microsoft Flight Simulator, the main complete KMCO payware choices are BMWorld & AmSim’s Orlando International Airport and Taxi2Gate’s KMCO. Freeware enhancements also exist, but quality and dependencies vary. For MSFS 2024, use only a listing or build explicitly marked compatible; a 2020 package is not automatically a native 2024 release.
KMCO scenery available for MSFS 2020 and 2024
Both simulators already provide a stock Orlando International Airport, so these packages are replacements or enhancements rather than required downloads. The two established commercial alternatives were released for the MSFS platform, while their MSFS 2024 support depends on the specific build and distribution channel.

Which Orlando airport scenery should you choose?
Choose according to the represented airport layout, platform support and performance cost—not simply the largest feature list. KMCO has changed substantially, and Terminal C coverage is the first detail to inspect when comparing screenshots and release notes.
- For modern airline operations: choose a build that explicitly models Terminal C, its apron and the associated taxiway arrangement.
- For accurate parking: check gate numbers, airline-coded stands and whether the package has received airport-layout updates.
- For lower-spec PCs or consoles: favour sensible level-of-detail behaviour over extensive terminal interiors and dense static objects.
- For ground-service add-ons: make sure any profile names the same publisher and scenery edition. A profile made for Taxi2Gate will not necessarily align with BMWorld & AmSim or the stock airport.
Do not install two complete KMCO replacements together. Airport scenery is layered by location, not selected from an in-simulator menu, so overlapping products can display both sets of terminals, jetways and ground markings.
Do MSFS 2020 KMCO add-ons work in MSFS 2024?
Some MSFS 2020 airport packages work in MSFS 2024, but compatibility must be confirmed for the exact KMCO build. Our MSFS 2020-to-2024 add-on compatibility guidance covers the difference between packages that load, packages officially supported by their developer and native 2024 versions.
A scenery appearing in MSFS 2024’s library or Marketplace is stronger evidence than an old product description that mentions only MSFS 2020. Developers can update a package without changing its product name, and entitlement, installer support and console availability may differ.
The reverse is not guaranteed either: scenery built specifically for MSFS 2024 should not be copied into MSFS 2020 unless the package says it supports both. See our explanation of the limits of using MSFS 2024 scenery in MSFS 2020.
On Xbox Series X|S—and on PlayStation 5 or PS5 Pro with MSFS 2024—only products made available through the in-simulator Marketplace can be installed. PC Community-folder freeware cannot be sideloaded onto consoles. MSFS 2020 remains a PC and Xbox release and was never available on PlayStation.
How do you install KMCO scenery without conflicts?
Install one complete Orlando airport package and remove or disable every competing KMCO enhancement before testing it.
- Confirm the simulator and platform. Check whether the package names MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024 or both, and whether it supports PC or your console.
- Remove the previous KMCO add-on. Delete its complete package from the active PC Community folder, or uninstall it through Content Manager or My Library if it came from the Marketplace.
- Install the new package. For a manual PC installation, the add-on’s root folder should normally contain files such as
manifest.jsonandlayout.json. An extra nested folder is a common reason scenery fails to appear. - Check dependencies. Freeware may require a separate object library. Missing dependencies often produce absent buildings or pink, chequered textures.
- Test without ancillary profiles. Load at a gate before enabling third-party ground-service or camera profiles, then add them back one at a time.

Why do KMCO terminals, jetways or gates look wrong?
Duplicate or misplaced objects usually mean that two airport packages are active, while missing textures point to an incomplete installation or absent library.
- Two terminals occupying the same space: remove the second full KMCO package or an old enhancement left in the Community folder.
- Jetways connect to the wrong point: disable any profile made for a different publisher’s rendition and test the airport package alone.
- Aircraft start inside buildings: update the scenery and check that the selected gate exists in that edition’s parking layout.
- Approach guidance does not match the runway: establish whether the physical runway or navigation data is outdated. Navdata can change procedures, but it does not reposition an incorrectly modelled runway.
- Poor frame rate around the terminals: reduce Objects Level of Detail and airport traffic first, then disable optional interiors or static aircraft where the scenery provides those controls.
Do not remove core simulator airport content unless the add-on’s instructions specifically require it. A properly constructed third-party KMCO package should exclude the stock airport elements it replaces.
