FS2004 European Airlines Boeing 747-200 G-BDXH
European Airlines’ Boeing 747-200 G-BDXH brings a distinctive black-and-blue jumbo to FS2004, pairing Project Open Sky’s model with updated flight dynamics and effects for convincing long-haul handling. Enjoy dynamic shine, reflective textures, full night lighting, animated control surfaces, thrust reversers, flexing wings, tilting bogies, and opening passenger and cargo doors.
Boeing 747-200, registration G-BDXH, black & blue. Model designed by C. Vincent Cho and Yosuke Ube from Project Open Sky, FDE designed by Nick Peterson, repaint done by Nicholas Wilkinson. Includes latest FDE and effects.
This variant of the 747 features increased fuel capacity and more powerful engines, giving it greater range and maximum take-off weight (MTOW), necessary for European overseas routes. Originally fitted with Pratt & Whitney engines, they were upgraded to both GE and Rolls-Royce engines later. Entering service in 1971, this version featured a stretched upper deck, allowing for additional passenger seats. The 747 was an offshoot of lessons Boeing learned from its development of the massive C5-A Galaxy transport for the USAF. A total of 393 of the 747-200 were produced by the end of the production run in 1991, and there were also 12 military variants deployed. Most large carriers have retired them, but many remain operational.
