FS2004 Airports Of Victoria

Airports of Victoria updates 126 Victorian airfields and strips with new AFCAD2 facility data for FS2004, improving planning, departures, arrivals, and ATC routing across the region. AI traffic gains proper taxiways, parking, and runway use, and the package requires Sebastian Szalai’s Victorian Airfields v1.1 scenery.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004

Airports Of Victoria, Australia airports and facilities data. These AFCAD2 files are for use with the free add-on scenery from Sebastian Szalai of Victorian Airfields v1.1 and are not suitable for use with the Flight Simulator default scenery. These 126 new AFCAD2 files will allow you to plan routes, and take off and land at all of these airfields and airstrips, and ATC will route you appropriately. AI aircraft can be added, and will land, taxi, park and take off in the correct locations. By John Hinson.

Installation:

You will make backups before changes, won't you!

  • Install the FS2002 Victorian Airfields v1.1 scenery into FS2004 as described by the author.
  • Place all of the AF2_xxxx.bgl files into the "scenery" folder of the same folder that the airports scenery has been installed to. This varies from the usual recommended procedure of placing such files in the ...FS9\Addon Scenery\scenery folder. The advantage of doing this the way suggested here is that if you choose to turn off the add-on scenery, the A&F Data will be turned off too, reverting to the Microsoft default data.
  • Start up (or restart) the Flight Simulator and the changes will be activated.

How to install this mod

FS2004 add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per readme

    FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
