FSX RAF Shorts Tucano from Simshed. The Embraer Tucano is one of the world's most successful turboprop trainers. Originally from Embraer, the Tucano was manufactured under licence by Shorts of Belfast for the Britsh Royal Air Force. The two seater basic trainer was fitted with an uprated turboprop engine and stronger airframe. Model by Brian Franklin. Gauges by Jim Cooper and Doug Freeman. Textures by Neil Angus, assisted by Dyl Roberts Tested for FSX and thumbnail added by Danny Garnier.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    I'm new to mods so I'm not sure if this will work with FS2020. I've put the folder in my community folder, and the content manager shows the name of the plane but that it isn't installed. Is this only for older versions of FS?

    Same issue, which was annoying as this freeware version is the best around. The fix for this is to download the following:

    Embraer_EMB_314_AFA_ALX Super_Tucano. (The VC in this model is one of the worst I've seen!)

    1. Copy the files from the Sound folder in the above, then paste them to the Simshed version Sound folder.
    2. Make sure you delete the 1 KB file that is already in there before pasting the new files.
    3. There should be 21 files in total.

    Voila! Your Simshed Tucano now has all required sounds.

  4. SLABBER DU TOIT

    I HAVE DOWNLOADED FSX RAF Shorts Tucano. Works well with FSX, except no sound? TESTED IN FS9 WORKS WELL AND SOUND O/K. I USE WINDOWS XP. What can be the problem as I have checked the sound settings, PLACED THE SOUND FILE AT SOUND, has DELETED THE FILE And used zip three times, have also downloaded this file from your site 3 x times. File reference fsxtuc2.zip Please help. Thanks MS
