EDHF Hungriger Wolf Scenery.
This is my first attempt to convert my former fs9 sceneries to fsX and I am still learning but happy with this result for the time being. EDHF is the new ICAO code of Hungriger Wolf, the former army airbase ETHI (helicopters/"Heeresflieger"). You find this standard airport in Northern Germany, State of Schleswig Holstein near the city of Itzehoe. The aero club of Itzehoe, which has been there for over 50 years along with the army, is still there, real estate agents try to sell or lease the army buildings. So if you are interested you can have a warehouse with Airport connection. Hungriger wolf means hungry wolf and the wolf has been an emblem of the regiment as well as an owl in their coat of arms for this place in the forests. You will find a lot of information in the internet and even if you do not understand German there are interesting hints of real life and photos so you can compare my work with reality. The concrete runway was only for STOL training of the C-160D Transall of the nearby airbase (Airforce) of Hohn (ETNH) and other NATO units, half of it and another 9/27 are grass.
The scenery was done with commercial programs but more important are the freeware programs Afcad, SBuilderX 310 2007 Luis Sá & PTSim and X2AF2X, a tool set by Burkhard Renk. A heartly Thank You to all developers of these programs!
Designers for FSX have to be very careful with the amount of objects in their scenery. 0n my system FSX with SP1! (Intel DuoCore 2x2,4 GHz und Nvidia 7600/256 MB)I have about 30fps with all things installed, but you can easily de-atcivate BGLs as these are clearly named. Tower.bgl e.g. has only object from different libraries like runway12 or default scenery objects, the extra autogen you will find in the texture folder as agn.files.
Known bugs: No night and seasons change!
This scenery is freeware and you can do whatever you like as long as you keep this document to the folder- But you are not allowed to make money with it or keep it on sites, which one can reach only as paying member! You use this program on your own risk and expense!
