Its enlarged upper fuselage provides about 1,840 cubic metres of cargo space for bulky, relatively low-density aircraft sections. It is also around 21.5 metres high. - Treating the Dreamlifter as an ordinary freighter: its swollen body was designed around oversized aircraft components, not general freight efficiency.
How does aircraft size show up in a flight simulator?
Large-aircraft dimensions are most apparent during taxi, stand selection and rotation rather than cruise.
The pilot must allow for the main landing gear cutting inside the cockpit's path during turns, limited wingtip clearance and the tailstrike risk associated with long fuselages. Add-ons do not always reproduce folding wingtips, steering geometry, weight limits or ground clearances accurately.
