How to install Logitech flight panels in Prepar3D v5

  1. Close Prepar3D. Panel drivers and plug-ins should be installed while the simulator is not running.
  2. Remove conflicting legacy panel software. If an old Saitek or FSX-only package is installed, uninstall that panel package and restart Windows. Do not remove working yoke or pedal drivers unnecessarily.
  3. Install the correct driver and plug-in. Choose software for the exact panel, your Windows edition and 64-bit Prepar3D v5. Follow the installer’s connection prompts rather than connecting every panel at once.
  4. Connect one panel at a time. Begin with a direct motherboard USB port. For several panels, use a powered USB hub; passive hubs frequently cause blank displays, resets and intermittent disconnections.
  5. Confirm Windows detection. Check that each device appears in Windows Device Manager or the supplied panel test utility before opening Prepar3D. A panel that Windows cannot see will not be fixed by changing P3D settings.
  6. Start Prepar3D and allow the add-on. Approve the panel module if Prepar3D presents a trust or enable prompt. If it was previously rejected, check that the panel add-on has not been disabled.
  7. Load a default aircraft. Switch on the battery, avionics and relevant radio or autopilot systems. Test one panel at a time before adding the rest.

A dark display at the scenario screen does not automatically indicate failure. Radio, Multi and Instrument Panels may remain blank until a flight is loaded, the plug-in connects and the aircraft has electrical power.

Do Logitech panels appear in the Prepar3D Controls menu?

Radio, Multi and Switch Panels normally should not be assigned through Prepar3D’s Controls menu. Their switches, selectors and displays are handled by the panel plug-in, while conventional axes and buttons on a yoke or throttle are assigned directly in P3D.

A mistake we see constantly is running two panel interfaces or assigning the same command in both P3D and the panel software. The result is duplicated switch movements, values that jump back immediately, or autopilot settings changing twice. Use one interface for each panel function.

Why are my Logitech panels detected but not working?

If Windows detects a panel but Prepar3D does not respond, the fault is usually the plug-in, its SimConnect connection or an incompatible aircraft rather than the USB driver.
