Concentrated instrument coverage
Laughlin AFB has three parallel runways on the same 13/31 alignment, yet its nine approach procedures serve only two runway ends. The mix is unusually concentrated: ILS and localiser procedures are supplemented by RNAV (GPS) and VOR coverage, giving those served ends several instrument options while the remaining ends have none published. Two runways exceed 8,300 ft; the third is 6,571 ft, a difference of more than 2,200 ft that distinguishes it clearly within the layout.
Surrounding chart coverage
Nearby Del Rio International has the broadest neighbouring procedure set, though its five charts remain much thinner than Laughlin’s coverage. Edwards County has four, while Maverick County Memorial International and Garner Field each have three. The San Antonio Sectional adds the wider visual reference around Del Rio that the airport-specific instrument procedures do not provide.
14 current FAA charts for Laughlin AFB, including 9 instrument approachs, 2 departure procedures, 1 arrival procedure, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.
