Procedure coverage

Every end of Deering’s two-runway layout has an RNAV (GPS) approach, giving balanced instrument coverage across both alignments rather than concentrating procedures on a single runway. The set offers no alternative approach type, and there is no dedicated airport diagram for ground-layout reference.

Runways and surrounding coverage

Runway 12/30 is 660 ft shorter than 03/21, so the two alignments are not interchangeable when required runway length exceeds 2,660 ft. Ralph Wien Memorial has comparably broad chart coverage nearby, while Buckland’s set is thinner. The Nome Sectional adds wider-area visual planning context beyond the airport-specific instrument procedures.
