Go PROThe Bering Strait, Seward Peninsula and Norton Sound anchor a sheet that extends east into Alaska’s remote interior. It spans exposed coastline, islands and broad stretches of tundra, with river valleys and rugged western uplands shaping the inland landscape. The northern area reaches towards Kotzebue Sound and the western approaches to the Brooks Range, while the southern portion follows the country around Norton Sound.
Routes running north from the Seward Peninsula continue onto the Cape Lisburne chart. Eastbound coverage transfers to Fairbanks or Point Barrow, depending on latitude, while the southern joins are split between Bethel to the south-west and McGrath to the south-east. These adjoining sheets matter particularly here because journeys across western Alaska can pass from coastal terrain to a vast inland region within a single route.
