Approach coverage

Nome’s two-runway layout is matched by published approaches to three of its four runway ends, leaving one end without a procedure. The eight approach plates provide a broad mix, including ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS), VOR and NDB procedures. Two ILS approaches add precision coverage, while the other types provide several distinct forms of instrument guidance rather than relying on a single system.

Runways and local chart context

Runways 03/21 and 10/28 are both just over 6,000 ft long, so the second alignment does not impose a sharply shorter available runway. Teller and Brevig Mission each have five published charts, with White Mountain slightly thinner at four; all three sets are considerably smaller than Nome’s. The Nome Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context not shown by the terminal procedures.
