FS2004 Sailable Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier

Sail a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier across the globe in FS2004, then launch and recover aircraft from a moving deck with a functional virtual cockpit and a straightforward 2D panel. Two carrier models and matching panels are included, using tuned sounds and gauges and drawing on proven ship-traffic foundations for believable at-sea operations.

How to install this mod

FS2004 aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per readme

    FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    I was impressed with the looks of this model so I took her out for sea trials. I departed Sydney Harbor heading due east full ahead. After about 58 hours the fuel was depleted and I can still see the Australian coast. I started with 47550 gallons or 95%. GPS put's my location 56nm from from Kingsford Smith Intl. Less than a mile an hour and 849 gallons mile.

    The gauges look like they were salvaged from the Mayflower or Wright Flyer which I thought was amusing.

    On the upside this model has ample room for improvement if your into tweaking CFG files and creating panels. Heck I might tweak on myself.

    I'd give 2 stars I guess.
