Komiinteravia textures for the SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 “SALON” bring a faithful Arctic Komi, Russia color scheme to the tri-jet, with crisp exterior detailing that accentuates the airframe’s rugged character. Built for FS2004, it installs cleanly and requires the SCDSYK40.ZIP base package.

This freeware modification introduces a Komiinteravia livery for the SCDS Yak-40 version 1.3 “SALON” package. It provides an authentic color scheme reflecting the Arctic Komi region in Russia, delivered in a user-friendly self-installing format. This livery is the work of developer Maxim Mysin, with special acknowledgment to Zbynek Pavlon for his refined rivet details. The main Yak-40 aircraft set (SCDSYK40.ZIP) must be present as a prerequisite, and it is not compatible with Yak-40K v1.2RC.

Komiinteravia Yak-40 Overview

The three-engine Yakovlev Yak-40 is a short-haul jet airliner designed during the Soviet era. It offers practical reliability and stable handling, especially on shorter runways and in challenging climates. Komiinteravia, a regional airline operating in the Arctic Komi territory, has utilized such aircraft for efficient passenger services within remote northern locales. With this visual enhancement, the robust structural elements of the Yak-40 are highlighted through detailed exterior textures.

Key Technical Notes

  • Compatible exclusively with SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 “SALON” model.
  • Requires the base Yak-40 package (SCDSYK40.ZIP) for proper operation.
  • Incompatible with the Yak-40K v1.2RC release.
  • Features an installer that automatically locates the necessary directory (if guided to the MSFS 2004 root folder).

Installation Procedure

  1. Run the included .exe file.
  2. Specify the main MSFS 2004 directory when prompted.
  3. Allow the installer to place all required files. Once complete, the new livery should appear in the simulator’s aircraft selection menu.

If you install any patches for the SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 afterwards, and notice that the Komiinteravia livery is no longer visible, simply re-run the provided installer to restore the textures.
