I should point out that this repaint is not totally accurate. The default DC3 does not have both right and left wing bmps nor does it have both right and left side rudder bmps therefore it is not possible to add serial numbers or airline logo on the wings and the airline logo on the rudder must be in reverse on one side....sorry about that. The livery is accurate in other respects. I hope you enjoy my repaint.

description=Allegheny Airlines was founded in 1937 as an airmail carrier in Western Pennsylvania and was known as All American Aviation. It operated a Stinson Reliant and used a hook to pick up mail bags on a low pass over the pickup area. In 1949 they received certification to carry passengers and began operation with DC3s, and became known as All American Airways, with Pittsburgh PA. as its hub. In 1953 the name was Changed to Allegheny Airlines. They operated a fleet of 5 Martin 202s and 14 DC3s. They eventually became the third largest local service airline in the country. They eventually added a fleet of Convair 580 twin engine turbo props, and with the merger of Lake Central Airlines, a fleet of commuter planes. In 1979 the name was changed to USAir, and eventually to USAirways, and is now the 6th largest airline in the USA. On a personal note, I grew up in eastern Ohio and often watched the Stinson pick up mail and on visiting my grandparents,(living near Allegheny Airport in Pittsburg) would watch the planes come and go, and many of them were the early Allegheny DC3s.

  • Save the file. You're done; she will appear in your aircraft selection menu accordingly.
