FSX / P3D Repaint

FSX Douglas DC-3 Texture Fix

Sharper Douglas DC-3 visuals come from these replacement texture files, correcting the blurred look found in the default aircraft and restoring cleaner panel and exterior detail. Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, the fix swaps in revised bitmaps while keeping the original model intact for a more authentic classic airliner presentation.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D Repaint

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Add livery to base aircraft folder

Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.

  3. Update aircraft.cfg

Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.

  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
Still stuck? The readme included with the file is the authoritative source for this specific mod. Visit our Flight School tutorials or ask in our Q&A forum.
