FS2004 AFCAD2 File For KOFF

Offutt Air Force Base (KOFF) gets an improved airport layout for FS2004 with an AFCAD2 file that refines taxiway structure and signage assumptions, plus accurate military parking positions and aircraft type assignments. It supports realistic 55th Wing operations and smoother AI ground flow for traffic arriving, departing, and staging at this busy Nebraska base.

This AFCAD2 file depicts Offutt AFB. Taxiway designations are just a guess as there is no published information that I could find. Aircraft parking spaces and military aircraft types are factual, however. For the last three years I served in the US Navy Reserve, I performed my monthly week end drills at Offutt in the STRATCOM (formerly Strategic Air Command) Headquarters building. Additionally, my oldest son lives in Bellevue, Nebraska, and his house sits on a bluff just south of the base. It's a fantastic location to watch the annual Offutt Air Show. I can watch the traffic come and go from his deck.

Offutt AFB is the home of the 55th Wing, the largest wing in Air Combat Command and the second largest in the Air Force. In October 1998, the 55th Wing transferred control of the EC-135 LOOKING GLASS mission to the United States Navy's E6 TACAMO aircraft and the 7th Airborne Command and Control Squadron, which flew the EC-135 LOOKING GLASS aircraft, inactivated. In September 1999, the 338th Combat Training Squadron was activated and assigned to the 55th Operations Group. Additionally, in March 2000, the wing received its 16 RC-135W RIVET JOINT aircraft. The wing conducts operations from Offutt AFB, Nebraska; Kadena AB, Japan; RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom; Souda Bay Naval Support Activity, Crete; and other locations around the world.

To Install:

Place the AF2_KOFF.bgl file into Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\Scenery folder.
Start up the simulator and the changes will be present.

To Uninstall:

Delete the file and the default will then be active.
