Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

This freeware release introduces a unique concept aircraft called the Airbus A370, a double-deck twinjet that blends futuristic engineering with practical design elements. Provided as a complete package for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, this offering is authored and created by Camil Valiquette, and it includes a fully functional base model plus a paint kit tailored for skilled and aspiring livery artists alike.

Futuristic Structural Layout

The A370 concept showcases a multi-level cabin arrangement with a twinjet powerplant. This dual-deck configuration is intended to maximize passenger capacity without sacrificing aerodynamic efficiency. Although the A370 does not exist in real-world commercial service, the engineering vision behind the concept heavily references established Airbus design principles, such as streamlined fuselage contours and cutting-edge wing profiles.

Specialized Paint Kit Details

Included in this freeware package is an advanced paint kit featuring layered source files (often in PSD format) for effortless customization. The layered approach gives creators granular control over textures, enabling precise artwork alignment along the curves of the fuselage and control surfaces. Livery enthusiasts can therefore develop unique airline markings, fictional corporate branding, or personalized color schemes. The paint kit is also optimized for performance, ensuring that custom liveries look realistic in varying environmental conditions within the simulator.

Integrated Animated Ground Servicing (AGS)

Every detail of this mod has been refined to include Animated Ground Servicing (AGS). These animations provide a lifelike environment around the A370 during gate operations. You will observe service vehicles in action, along with interactive components such as cargo bay doors and other maintenance hatches. These active elements bring a new level of realism to ground handling procedures in Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Performance and Flight Dynamics

The furnished flight dynamics are designed to reflect a modern wide-body jet, with balanced control inputs and flight management. Although purely conceptual, the configuration takes inspiration from Airbus aerodynamics and engine parameters. Pilots can expect a smooth cruise profile, responsive yaw control, and reliable short-field performance for an aircraft of its proposed size class.

Complete Freeware Package

Offered as freeware on Fly Away Simulation, this download includes every component needed to fly the A370 and create custom liveries. You do not need any external files or additional purchases. The base model delivers all virtual cockpit functionality and external detail modeling, while the paint kit complements these features by allowing deep customization. This blend of accessibility and extensibility ensures that sim pilots can both enjoy the aircraft immediately and fine-tune it to their own creative vision.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D livery / repaint
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Add livery to base aircraft folder

Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.
  3. Update aircraft.cfg

Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
