This repaint package brings the distinct VFA-113 Stingers livery to the payware VRS F/A-18E Super Hornet (version 1.4) within Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Created by Nathan Havercroft—with thanks to fbk289 for the repaint kit—these textures replicate a jet photographed at Palm Springs in February 2013, capturing the CAG (Commander, Air Group) markings of a squadron known for its legacy in carrier-based operations.
Unique Squadron Characteristics
Strike Fighter Squadron 113, or VFA-113, proudly carries the Stingers nickname and operates from Naval Air Station Lemoore in California. As part of its operational commitment, the unit flies the single-seat Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet, recognized for its advanced avionics suite and tactical performance in modern naval aviation. The distinctive color scheme featured here pays tribute to the squadron’s history of fleet defense and precision strike capabilities.
Technical Highlights of the Repaint
- Accurate Markings: Reflects the official Stingers insignia and tail art, closely matching the February 2013 reference photographs.
- Detailed Texture Mapping: Every rivet and panel line is placed precisely for an authentic appearance when viewed up close.
- Seamless Integration: Designed specifically for the payware VRS Super Hornet model (v1.4), ensuring compatibility and minimal graphical artifacts.
