FSX US Navy VFA-146 Blue Diamonds Line Bird F/A-18E R

VFA-146 “Blue Diamonds” line bird livery brings authentic US Navy markings to the VRS F/A-18E Super Hornet in Microsoft Flight Simulator X, inspired by a Riverside photo reference from March 2012. Crisp squadron titles and tail art suit fleet strike operations based at NAS Lemoore and requires VRS Superbug v1.4.

This is a set of VFA-146 "Blue Diamonds" textures for the FSX VRS F/A-18E Super Hornet (V1.4 only). They are based on an aircraft I photographed at Riverside in March 2012. Although the Blue Diamonds currently fly the F/A-18C Hornet they are scheduled to transition to the E model in the future. This repaint is freeware, however, please do not upload this repaint anywhere without my permission. Strike Fighter Squadron 146 (VFA-146) also known as the "Blue Diamonds" is a United States Navy an operational fleet strike fighter squadron based at Naval Air Station Lemoore California. Installation:

  • This zip file is ACM friendly simply extract it to a known location and then import using the VRS ACM.

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
