FSX Korean Air McDonnell Douglas MD-83

Korean Air livery for the McDonnell Douglas MD-83 brings authentic airline markings to busy AI traffic in Microsoft Flight Simulator X, adding regional realism on the ground and in the circuit. Built as a repaint for the default AI MD-83, it requires the flyable FSX Default MD-83 base pack by Braden Peters.

FSX Korean Air McDonnell Douglas MD-83. A repaint for the FSX AI default MD83. Special note: Korean Air flight 1533 overran the runway at Pohang Aero after going around because of poor visibility. The plane collided into ten atennas then broke up into two. Fortunately, no one was killed. This repaint requires the flyable base pack of the FSX Default MD-83 by Braden Peters (MD-83BP.ZIP). How to install this mod

FSX / P3D Repaint

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Add livery to base aircraft folder

    Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.

  3. Update aircraft.cfg

    Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
