This package is an upgrade for the default MD83 that converts it from an AI aircraft to a player flyable aircraft. This MD-83 package has all of the aircraft files. This package includes two liveries and a simple to understand readme. Package by Braden Peters.

This is an upgrade to the default FSX MD-83. Have you ever wanted to fly the MD-83, but couldn't get it to work properly? Why pay twenty five dollars for a payware plane that you don't know if you'll even like, when you can use this upgrade and get it for free? Please note: This file is for FSX Only.

  • Unzip the contents of the zip file to a folder of your choice (it is most convenient to unzip it to the FSX Simobjects/Airplanes folder).
  • Copy the folder inside the zip file to the FSX Simobjects/Airplanes folder.
  • Check in the MD_83 folder to make sure everything is there. There should be all of the following folders:
    Model, Panel, Sound, Soundai, Texture, Texture.1, Texture.2, Aircraft.cfg, MD_83.air and a thumbnail.
  • Fire up FSX and go fly.

Notes:

  • If you want to replace the panel with a new one just go into the Panel folder and delete the existing panel. Then replace it with the panel that you want to use. The default panel is the CRJ-700 panel.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
