FSX / P3D Repaint

FSX United Airlines Boeing 747-400 (old colors)

United Airlines’ Boeing 747-400 in the classic Saul Bass “rainbow” scheme brings a 1974–1993 look to the default jumbo in FSX, with crisp exterior textures and matching airline titles. The package also includes a themed splash screen and integrates cleanly as an additional selectable livery.

Repaint — for the sim’s default aircraft, nothing else needed

FSX United Airlines Boeing 747-400 (old colors). A repaint for the default B747. United Airlines has a fleet of 26 747-400s, with six of them to exit from United Airlines in 2008-2009. This texture contains a rainbow color scheme from 1974 to 1993, designed by Saul Bass. Splash screen included. By Victor Vu.

Installation:
Place the Texture.UALO folder into the default B747_400 folder, then go to the installation text document and copy all contents. Next, go to the default B747_400 and open the aircraft.cfg, then go to before you end up into the [GENERAL] Section. Last, paste everything and then change the x into a number that is not used (7... or later), then run FSX and choose free flight and go to the aircraft manufacturer to "Boeing," then look over "United Airlines" and there you have it!

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D Repaint
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Add livery to base aircraft folder

Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.
  3. Update aircraft.cfg

Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
