FSX Grumman J2F Duck 2D Panel

Grumman J2F Duck pilots get a crisp 4:3 2D panel for FSX with two layouts: classic compass and attitude instruments, or Sperry heading and pitch autopilot with GPS. Pop-up fuel, pedestal, and radio windows streamline workflow, while new clickable gauges add mouse control for key engine and electrical switches to match the virtual cockpit.

Grumman J2F Duck 2D Panel. A 4:3 ratio 2D panel created for SWingmans Grumman J2F Duck. There are two configurations. One has the normal compass and artificial horizon indicators, the other has Sperry Compass Heading Autopilot, Sperry AHI Pitch Autopilot and GPS. Both have new popup windows for the fuel gauges, pedestal, and radios. Included are some new gauges to allow mouse control of the battery, elec fuel pump, magnetos, engine primer, and starter in the virtual cockpit. The 2D instrumentation reflects the VC. I also added some switches on the Fuel Gauge pop-up for common functions.

Installation:
Put the "Panel.DCB"(no AP/GPS) and "Panel.SPAP" folders in the SWingman Duck's main folder(s). Copy the original gauge folder "DuckJ2F" into both new panel.DCB/SPAP folders.

In the aircraft.cfg, change the panel= line to panel=DCB for the no AP/GPS version and panel=SPAP for the AP and GPS panel.

This Panel and Gauge Set are Copyright Don Bodenstedt and released as Freeware.

Distribution is OK, on the condition that it remains FREE, complete and includes all the contents of the original zip including this readme.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D panel / gauge

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place panel files

    Panel files go inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{aircraft}\panel\. Back up the existing panel folder first.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
