A photorealistic 2D panel for the Dan Cownan Icon A5 (A5.ZIP). Contains all new gauges (except for GPS), to fully match the actual aircraft. Includes installation instructions and full PDF manual for panel and gauges. This update corrects incorrectly named gauge CAB files and adds some lighting gauges and effects. By Darrel Woodhouse.

This version corrects the incorrectly named gauge CAB files, adds the "seawings" and panel light switches and adds appropriate lighting effects to the aircraft.cfg file.
If you managed to install the previous version by swapping the names of the 2 CAB files, you DO NOT need to copy and replace the A5.AIR file but you will still need the complete PANEL folder and the AIRCRAFT.CFG file to use the additional features.
If you are installing for the first time, follow the steps below.
- Unzip the downloaded file (you must have already done that or you wouldn't be reading this file).
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Go to your Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes/A5/ folder.
- Rename the panel folder by naming it something different (like PANELORIG).
- Rename the aircraft.cfg file by naming it something different (like AIRCRAFTORIG.CFG).
- Rename the A5.air file by naming it something different (like A5ORIG.AIR).
This is important, as these files need to be replaced with the ones in the downloaded panel folder. You will need them if you wish to replace the original panel.
After you have done that, copy the -
- Panel folder.
- A5.air file.
- Aircraft.cfg file.
- into the A5 folder. (The renamed files will remain.)

Yep..same here..too bad too...
I had the same problem as Luke but solved it by editing the aircraft.cfg. I just erased the value assigned to the "panel=DW" variable, so it became "panel=". It worked for me.
I had put a few hours in the A5 and when I tried to upgrade to the proper panel, the 2d high res one, and now I dont even have the A5 in my planes list at all. I have tried to reinstall the original A5 file and still nothing is showing up for it in plane selection.
