FSX MCAS Miramar Scenery

MCAS Miramar (KNKX) for FSX refreshes the stock San Diego military airfield with expanded parking, reworked taxiways and aprons, a relocated control tower, and added fire station detail. Stock scenery objects provide static fuel trucks, helicopters, lots, and lighting, plus runway-adjacent asphalt strips aligned to current charts and satellite imagery.

MCAS Miramar Scenery.

MS didn't do much with military bases in FSX. Here is an improved version of the stock MCAS Miramar. I added Military_Cargo and Military_Combat parking spaces. I replaced and moved the control tower. I added the fire station and fire trucks. Added static fuel trucks, helicopters, parking lots with cars and light poles. Added, removed, or adjusted taxiways and aprons as needed. Added asphalt strips adjacent to the concrete runways as in real life.

I use Just Flight's Military Plus Packs and they work fine with this airport. I also use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed. Updates made using AirNav diagrams and Google Earth to be as accurate as possible. All work done with Flight 1's AFX program and Instant Scenery.

I will be doing other military bases as time permits.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the two files AFX_KNKX_JC.bgl and KNKX_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
